At Hera AI, we believe your menstrual health data is deeply personal. We built this app with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. This policy explains exactly what we collect, how we protect it, and what rights you have over your data.

Our Privacy Promise

We will never sell your data. Period. (Pun intended.)

Your cycle data, symptoms, and personal information belong to you. We collect only what's necessary to make the app work, and we give you full control to export or delete your data at any time.

What We Collect

Information You Provide

  • First name — So we can personalize your experience

  • Email address — For account login and password recovery

  • Cycle data — Period start/end dates, cycle length, period length

  • Daily logs — Flow intensity, symptoms, moods, and any notes you add

Information We Don't Collect

  • ❌ Your last name

  • ❌ Your location or GPS data

  • ❌ Your contacts

  • ❌ Photos or camera access

  • ❌ Health data from other apps

  • ❌ Advertising identifiers

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

  1. Provide the app's features — Track your periods, predict future cycles, show your logged symptoms and moods

  2. Personalize your experience — Display your name, calculate your averages

  3. Improve the app — Understand usage patterns in aggregate (never individual data)

We do NOT use your data for:

  • ❌ Advertising or ad targeting

  • ❌ Selling to third parties

  • ❌ Training AI models on your personal information

  • ❌ Profiling or behavioral tracking

Where Your Data Lives

Your data is stored on Google Firebase, a secure cloud platform. Specifically:

  • Your account information (first name, email) is stored in Firebase Authentication

  • Your cycle and period log data is stored in Firebase Firestore

Firebase servers are located in the United States. Google maintains SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 certifications for Firebase services.

How We Protect Your Data

Technical Safeguards

  • Encryption in transit — All data sent between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

  • Encryption at rest — Firebase encrypts stored data automatically

  • Access controls — Strict database rules ensure you can only access your own data; no user can see another user's information

  • Minimal data collection — We only collect what's necessary for the app to function

What We Can't Protect Against

We want to be honest: no system is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security against:

  • Sophisticated state-level attacks

  • Vulnerabilities in third-party services (Google/Firebase)

  • Compromised devices or passwords on your end

Your Rights & Controls

You Can Delete Your Data

In the app, go to Profile → Delete Account. This will:

  • Permanently delete all your period logs

  • Permanently delete your cycle data

  • Delete your account from our authentication system

This action is irreversible. Once deleted, we cannot recover your data.

Protecting Yourself

If data security is a significant concern for you (as it is increasingly a huge concern for many of us these days), we encourage you to use a privacy-focused email address for your account.

Third-Party Services

Hera AI uses the following third-party services:

Google Firebase for authentication, database, and hosting. Firebase Privacy

Apple App Store for app distribution. Apple Privacy

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics trackers, or data brokers.

Children's Privacy

Hera AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will:

  • Never reduce your privacy protections without your explicit consent
